Signing Ceremony for the Memorandums of Understanding on Co-Publishing Xi Jinping: The Governance of China (Volume IV) Held in Beijing
On January 30, the Signing Ceremony for the Memorandums of Understanding on Co-publishing Xi Jinping: The Governance of China (Volume IV) was held in Beijing.

Li Shulei, member of both the Political Bureau and the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and head of its Publicity Department, witnessed the signing of the memorandums of understanding (MOUs) after delivering a speech. He presented the Chinese and English editions of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China (Volume IV) to the representatives of foreign publishers who signed the MOUs.Wang Gang, deputy head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, and Du Zhanyuan, president of China International Communications Group (CICG), also witnessed the MOUs’ signing. Also present were CICG Vice President Lu Cairong, CICG Vice President and Editor-in-Chief Gao Anming, CICG Vice President Liu Dawei, CICG Vice President Yu Tao, and Greek Ambassador to China Evgenios Kalpyris, among other Chinese and foreign guests.

Du Zhanyuan presided over the event. He said that the signing of the MOUs for the co-translation and publication of relevant editions of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China (Volume IV) was a major event and marked a milestone in the book’s publication and distribution. As the book’s publisher, CICG is always ready to closely collaborate with publishers from other countries to ensure its successful international co-translation and publication for a global audience.
In July 2022, the Chinese and English editions of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China (Volume IV) were officially published by Foreign Languages Press (FLP). Eight other language editions were published in June 2023 – in French, Russian, Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Japanese, and traditional Chinese, all of which are available for distribution at home and abroad. Since the publication of its first volume in 2014, Xi Jinping: The Governance of China has continued to garner widespread attention from the international community. With the joint efforts of publishers worldwide, the book has been published in 40 languages and introduced to 180 countries and regions.

At the signing ceremony, 20 well-known publishers from Afghanistan, Albania, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, Kenya, the Republic of Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Poland, Romania, Tajikistan, Thailand, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam signed the MOUs on co-publishing Xi Jinping: The Governance of China (Volume IV) with FLP. According to the MOUs, FLP will work together with these publishers to translate and publish the book in their native languages.
The foreign-language editions of the book will help readers around the world gain a better understanding of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, of the path, theory, system, and culture of Chinese socialism from an objective perspective, and of the defining features of Chinese modernization. It will promote the exchanges of governance experience among countries and make a greater contribution to mutual learning among civilizations.
