Promotional event for Xi Jinping: The Governance of China (Vol. II, Thai Edition) held in Bangkok
On November 27, the promotional event for the Thai Edition of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China (Volume II), hosted by China International Communications Group and the Embassy of China in Thailand and organized by Foreign Language Press and the Belt and Road Cooperation Research Center, was held at National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) in Bangkok, Thailand.

Guests including H.E. Mr. Phumtham Wechayachai, deputy prime minister and minister of commerce of Thailand; Mr. Liu Dawei, vice president of China International Communications Group; Mr. Han Zhiqiang, China’s ambassador to Thailand, and H.E. Mr. Phinij Jarusombat, former deputy prime minister of Thailand and president of Thai-Chinese Cultural & Relationship Council, attended the event and delivered speeches. More than 120 people from China and Thailand’s political, academic, and press communities attended the event. Hu Kaimin, president of Foreign Language Press, presided over the promotional event.

Liu Dawei noted that Xi Jinping: The Governance of China systematically explains China’s worldview and global governance vision. It emphasizes that China has always adhered to the principle of extensive consultation, joint contribution, and shared benefits, practiced true multilateralism, and worked to build a global community of shared future. He pointed out that in the face of unprecedented challenges to human society, President Xi Jinping, with a long-term global vision and a strong sense of responsibility, clearly proposes the Chinese way to strengthen global governance and jointly build a better world. Mr. Liu said he believes that the book will provide meaningful ideas for Thai readers, continuously enrich the message that “China and Thailand are a family” and make it more relevant in the new era, and bring wisdom and strength to jointly write a new chapter of comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries and build a China-Thailand community of shared future.

Dr. Wirun Phichaiwongphakdee, director of the Belt and Road Cooperation Research Center, is the main translator of the Thai Edition of the second volume. He said that President Xi Jinping’s thought on governance is an experience that has proven effective in a big country with a population of 1.4 billion and a global practice for building a global community of shared future and the Belt and Road cooperation for ten years. It has provided a new choice and path for developing countries to fight against poverty, realize modernization, and participate in global governance, brought opportunities for the peaceful development of human civilization, and contributed Eastern wisdom to the world’s stability and prosperity.

Guests attending the event believe that China and Thailand have a millennium history of friendly exchanges and that the message of “China and Thailand are a family” is deeply rooted in people’s hearts. Xi Jinping: The Governance of China has answered the questions of China, the world, the people, and the times in a scientific and systematic way. It helps the international community fully understand Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and strengthen the understanding of China’s current development philosophy and practices. It fully reflects the unremitting efforts and significant contributions made by the CPC and President Xi to strive for a global community of shared future, which can provide valuable experience for the development of other countries. The publication and distribution of the Thai Edition of the second volume will undoubtedly enrich the message that “China and Thailand are a family” and enhance the China-Thailand comprehensive strategic partnership.
