Book Sharing Event for Albanian Edition of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China Held in Tirana
On the afternoon of March 1 local time, a book sharing event for the Albanian version of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China was held in Tirana, the capital city of Albania, under the auspices of China International Communications Group (CICG) and the Chinese Embassy in Albania. It was hosted by Foreign Languages Press (FLP) and Fan Noli, an Albanian publishing house.

The event was attended by more than 120 people, including CICG Vice President Lu Cairong, Chinese Ambassador to Albania Pang Chunxue, Former Albanian Parliamentarian Diana Çuli, Diplomat of the Albanian Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs Spartak Topollaj, Fan Noli President Rexhep Hida, representatives from Chinese and Albanian publishers and Albanian media and universities, as well as Albanian readers and authors. FLP Vice President Jia Qiuya hosted the event.

Lu Cairong noted in his speech that the principle of putting people first – fundamental to Chinese modernization – is the theme of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China . The book provides a systemic introduction of how the Communist Party of China (CPC) has led the Chinese people in pioneering a Chinese path to modernization and creating a new model for human progress. It demonstrates a new model of modernization and offers experience and inspiration for other developing countries. It shows that Chinese modernization is characterized by cooperation, mutual benefits, and peace. It will help Albanian readers to understand that Chinese modernization is driven by the aspirations of the people, and is always directed towards their interests and well-rounded development.

Pang Chunxue noted that China is currently building itself into a great modern socialist country in all respects and striving for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation through a Chinese path to modernization. The country is also promoting comprehensive social progress and people’s wellbeing through high-quality development. Since the publication of the Albanian edition of its first volume in 2017, Xi Jinping: The Governance of China has attracted wide attention and received warm responses from all sectors of Albanian society. It has opened a window for Albanian readers who want to study China’s development experience and success stories to understand China and the CPC, and serves as a witness to people-to-people exchanges and mutual learning between Chinese and Albanian civilizations.

Diana Çuli commented that Xi Jinping: The Governance of China provides systemic answers to major issues concerning China’s development in plain language, offering an opportunity for the international community to understand the Chinese path and the Chinese way of governance. The book not only tells Chinese stories, but also inspires solutions to many issues of global concern. Its contents on further reform, law-based governance, cultural confidence, social governance, the eco-civilization, and peaceful development are all worth looking into by other countries.

Spartak Topollaj highlighted the fact that President Xi Jinping has led the Chinese people in exploring their own path to modernization, and called for further cultural exchanges between China and Albania to deepen mutual understanding. He said that China has a clear set of ideas for state governance, and that Albania could draw Chinese experience and solutions from this book.

Rexhep Hida noted that Xi Jinping: The Governance of China has played an important role in promoting understanding of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, laying the foundation for the international community to understand today’s China and the CPC. He likened books to a bridge for communication, saying that President Xi’s book will play a vital role in promoting the people-to-people exchanges between China and Albania.

The Albanian editions of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China (Volume I and II) have been jointly translated and published by Foreign Languages Press and Fan Noli. To date, the book has been translated and published in 40 languages, and distributed in 180 countries and regions across the globe.
