Gu Wenchang (1915-1981) was an outstanding CPC member, a county Party secretary who received six-times commendations from Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee. He led the people of Dongshan County, Fujian Province creating forests on their island against sands for 10 years – “If I cannot tame the sands, let them bury me!” Throughout his life, he fulfilled the promise of serving the people wholeheartedly.
