English Translation Editor (Chinese into English)

Responsibilities:
Reporting to and working under the general guidance of the English Department.
Translating texts from Chinese into your native language with accuracy and readability; polishing & proofreading books, other publications, and documents in your native language as translated from Chinese, ensuring readability, consistency and accuracy.
Supporting the translation team by sharing suggestions for improvement via internal discussions or training on best practices.
Other editorial tasks assigned by the Foreign Languages Press.
Qualifications:
Native speaker of English, capable of communicating in Chinese.
No criminal record.
Aged below 50 and in good physical and mental health.
A bachelor's degree or above, preferably in editing, translation, China studies, communication, journalism or your native language.
A minimum of two years' full-time working experience in editing or translation.
Computer proficiency with a good command of editing tools.
A meticulous approach to work and an eye for detail.
A strong sense of responsibility and teamwork.

Friendly to China and a good understanding of China's national conditions, policies and requirements for international communications.
Knowledge of China, and enthusiasm in political, economic and cultural issues concerning China.
Command of Chinese or experience as a translator from Chinese into your native language is an asset.
