Focusing on Zhejiang’s innovations in social governance, this book offers a clear account of the Communist Party of China’s exploratory efforts in building a model of social governance based on collaboration, participation, and common interests, and explains the advantages of the lawbased social governance system in which the CPC committees exercise leadership, the government assumes responsibility, nongovernmental actors provide assistance, and the public are involved.
